Diamond Jubilee Street Party
All welcome to the first ever Garden Walk Street Party. We are applying for a Road Closure permit for Saturday 2nd June between 3 and 7 pm. After all this rain we have ordered sunny weather. Everybody come out on the street with decorations, bunting, toys, garden chairs and tables, food to share, musical instruments, games, visitors and friends. Dress suggestion: red, blue and white. Republicans welcome!
Join us towards the middle of the road to decorate and set up. Parking cars towards the end or beginning of the road would give us more space. And bring out those bicycles...
Lets put ideas together: Please talk to your neighbor, please get in touch with the organising committee and let us know how you can contribute: Simple, fun, and at the last minute!

Having JUST found out about the party from a flyer put through my door yesterday, to say i was dissapointed at not being consulted about the road closure, or party is putting it mildly. Other council tenants i spoke to had not been contacted either.Perhaps we could have helped or made suggestions, i did contact the council who told me that ALL residents should have been consulted, i wish you well with YOUR celebration, myself as a resident in this street for over 34 years will be holding my own party for family and friends.Just remember that access to our homes, as the traffic department told me has to be maintained, so please if you are parking at the Bateson road end be a little bit thoughtful of where you park. Thank you
